Takes Courage To Be Yourself
To lose guard or not to lose guard?

I’m out. I’m finally out of NYSC camp.
Did I enjoy it? No, but we’ve been over this: it’s not that bad.
But it was something, and what is that?
Camp, my fellas, was testing; to lose guard or not to lose guard? (💀)
You see, there are all sorts of characters and all sorts of people — myself included — but there’s a norm. And when you don’t fit in, you stand out.
I’m not about to tell you I had a lonely experience because I didn’t. Skies, I got proposed to (😂) but the gag is that it takes silent strength to be yourself and to remain yourself.
Once, I carried my copy of Game of Thrones out to read (because that’s so normal) and my ear nearly fell off that day from listening to several hot takes on why ‘reading is such a waste of time’.
Did I care? No (I did y’all proud), and wait for it… days later, I found a hardcore GOT fan: someone who has read all five books (11,000 pages on his phone), finished the GOT series, finished the HOTD series, watched almost every YouTube clip on the mad king, and of course, has devoured all art books dedicated to the important houses. You guys, that is a fan!
The good news though is that you, anyone, all of us can build that strength. My source of strength is the Holy Spirit. You can also practise the art of not giving a shit, and soon, you’ll become a maestro. Sound advice, I tell you.
Alright, stay true fellas and we still have one more story before the year runs out.
Peace ✌🏾
p.s: if you argue about the correct Christmas date and pagan holidays, rest.
