We are all replaceable

I’m only in the second week of camp but my brain is fixed on getting out. Last story, I claimed it wasn’t bad. It still isn’t. And I want to get out.

Nonetheless, having to meet new people and work together to win competitions has taught me one thing: I am replaceable. And because this is a case of inductive reasoning, we all are replaceable.

In the course of this camp, there are many things (not that many tbh) that I’ve wanted to participate in but never bothered to follow up with questions on rehearsal times and related.

And so, the job got done by people who were, in all honesty, more serious. Serious, available, competitive, whatever the right word is, you get the point.

This realization shouldn’t be new but I think I was used to small communities where I’d work even if I didn’t want to because I believed I had to.

Anyways, NYSC camp has taught me that I am replaceable so if I want to contribute to something, I better show up. Else, it’ll still get done and I’ll miserably wish I was part of it.

still on the good things

See ya later,

Dayo
