Serendipity & Getting Shotted At
— From Dayo, as she experiences and learns. Welcome to The Mind Palace!
I recently attended a conference.
I didn’t want to go. But I did.
Because I remembered a lesson I learnt previously:
‘Make choices I can look back and be grateful for.’
And after the event? I learnt another lesson.
If I hadn’t gone, I wouldn’t have had a lasting experience.
Because I put myself out there, I got to enjoy certain benefits.
The point is don’t expect to see or receive certain opportunities when you don’t put yourself in their path.
You see, the law of serendipity explains that our actions put us in positions where ‘luck’ is more likely to favour us.
So this week or beyond,
Put yourself out there.
Expose yourself to more stuff.
Don’t expect shots to be thrown at you when you’re not on the playing field.
And then, make choices you can look back and be grateful for.
Selah,
Dayo
